Though Kimberlyn Duncan is now enjoying the warm weather in Nassau, Bahamas, she's not on vacation. She's there to compete at this weekend’s second annual IAAF World Relays as a member of USA's 4x200m relay squad.

Taking place on May 2-3, the World Relays will feature over 600 international competitors in five relay events: 4x100m, 4x200m, 4x400m and the distance medley relay. A total prize purse of $1.4 million is up for grabs, and the top eight finishers in the men's and women's 4x100 and 4x400 relays will qualify for the 2016 Olympic Games.

"I feel blessed to be able to be out here," said Duncan, who arrived in the Bahamas earlier this week. "It’s another chance to represent the USA and to do what I love, which is running track and traveling."

At last year’s IAAF World Relays, Duncan helped USA edge out a 1:29.45 4x200m relay victory over Great Britain (1:29.61) and Jamaica (1:30.04) and hopes her team will be again victorious. Duncan's pool of teammates includes Shalonda Solomon, Tawanna Meadows, Kaylin Whitney, Candyce McGrone and Charonda Williams.

"Of course we want to win. I don’t know if we have a goal time in mind, but if we could break any kind of record that would be nice to go along with the win."

At age 23, Duncan has already built an impressive sprinting reputation. Before graduating from LSU in 2013, she had earned seven NCAA National titles, a Bowerman Award and the right to say that she's the only athlete to ever win three consecutive indoor and outdoor 200m NCAA National Championship titles. She’s also the 2013 USA Outdoor 200m champion and 2014 runner-up.

This year, Duncan feels stronger than ever after recently relocating from Baton Rouge to Los Angeles.

"It’s a new beginning and things are brand new, but they’ve been going well so far. At practice, I’m actually running longer distances than I ever did before and I opened up faster than I have before."

Her opening race took place at UCLA in April where she ran a strong 23.07. She’s since then built up speed with a handful of 4x100m relay and 100m races.

"It’s early right now and with the new program I’m still adjusting, but I’m having a positive outlook on the season, and I’m hopeful that this will be one of the best seasons that I’ve had."

The IAAF World Relays will air live from 7-10 p.m. ET on Saturday and Sunday, May 2-3 on Universal Sports. You can find more information on the World Relays at http://www.iaaf.org/competitions/iaaf-world-relays
