Team USA to be Led by 12 Olympic Medalists at IAAF World Relays

By Adam Kopet, DyeStat Editor

Next week more than 700 athletes representing 42 countries will descend upon Nassau for the third IAAF World Relays.

USATF, per a press release, is sending a full and competitive squad that will try to continue Team USA's winning ways at the event. In addition to sending 21 Olympians, including 12 medalists from Rio, nine athletes are returning to the Bahamas to compete for their third Golden Baton.

This year's relay races include the 4x100, 4x200, 4x400 and 4x800 relays for both men and women and a special co-ed 4x400 relay. The top eight teams in the 4x100 and 4x400 relays will get an automatic bid for the IAAF World Championships in August.

The IAAF World Relays are April 22-23. Universal HD will show tape delayed coverage both nights.

For a full listing of the Team USA relay members, see the USATF press release.
